The mill in spring, when the garrigue blooms

From April to June, cistus, thyme and broom cover the garrigue around the 1713 tower. The days grow longer, the pool welcomes its first swimmers and the Pont du Gard is just five minutes away: this is the mild season, from €750 a week.

The garrigue awakens

From April, the cistus opens its white and pink flowers between the umbrella pines and the olive trees. Thyme and rosemary scent the grounds, and the broom sets the garrigue ablaze with yellow. When the mistral rises, it sweeps the sky clear: from the terrace, the Pont du Gard stands out with rare sharpness. With the first fine days, the private swimming pool welcomes your first lengths, then the sun loungers take over. In the evening, you come home to the stone tower, its whitewashed vaults, its original timber frame, and the silence of 9,000 m² of garrigue.

Spring outings

The Pont du Gard is five minutes away. In spring, you can paddle a canoe beneath its arches, then settle on the beaches of the Gardon or take your time in the museum. On Saturday mornings, the big market at Uzès fills the Place aux Herbes, a quarter of an hour's drive away. In Nîmes, twenty-five minutes from the mill, the Whitsun Feria sets the arena and the streets buzzing. On quieter days, walk to the medieval village of Castillon-du-Gard, or set off on foot into the Gardon gorges, when the garrigue smells of thyme.

Booking for spring
